FAQ:
How do I save data?
Data is saved automatically as you go. Every time you start or stop the timer, and every time a new minute is counted, your progress is saved. So you don't need to worry about losing your progress.
I opened the app and my tasks aren't there!
Desktop Task Timer automatically gives you a clean timesheet at the start of every day. So your tasks are probably stored under the previous day's tasks. Open the calendar (by clicking on the date button), select the date you were last working, and you'll see your tasks. For more info, check out the Daily Timesheets help section.
I wish I could edit the minutes/seconds for a task.
You can! Just enter text into the minuts and seconds fields. This is useful if you have a meeting for which you are not at your desk and need to update your time after the fact. You can't directly edit the 'rounded hours' column - but it will update automatically to reflect what you enter into the minutes/seconds fields.
Where is the timer data stored?
The timer data is stored in 'Default.desktoptasktimer' and this file is located at:
~/Library/Application Support/82 Inc
If your library folder is hidden, you can also find this folder from your desktop by choosing 'go' from the top toolbar, then 'go to folder...' and pasting in the address above.
For instance, if you are moving from one computer to another, you can grab this file from the old computer, save it into this same folder on your new computer, and then when you next open the timer application it will have your old data.
The app is running slowly, especially when typing in a new task.
Due to the way the app saves its data, it's possible that the app will start to slow down after months of use. The workaround for this is to delete your data file and start from scratch (see 'where it timer data stored' above). Obviously you will want to back up this file or export the data first or else it will be lost forever.
